Quote Validity

This quotation is valid for 14 days from date of quote. Any change in product or product specification will require a new quotation.

Terms & Conditions of Sale

The installation pricing quoted is subject to a site inspection. Should additional work or materials be required a new quotation will be provided for this work prior to installation.

Our quotations are based on travel and installation within a 60KM radius of our premises in Stikland. Any installation outside of this area will be subject to a travel charge. AA Travel rates are used as a guideline. This will be quoted separately as a line item on your quotation.

It is company policy to receive 70% deposit on confirmation of order. The balance will be payable on the day of installation. Please note no cash payments will be accepted. Payment may be made via EFT or by arrangement with a credit card. On all installations, systems can only be commissioned once full and final payment has been received unless prior arrangements have been made. The system remains the property of Solarent until paid for in full. Solarent reserves its right to charge interest and collection fees as determined by the Credit Act on outstanding monies.

Workmanship Warranty

Solarent warrants that the installation shall be free of workmanship defects for a period of 12 months after the installation date. The warranty shall not apply where the Solar System Product has in any way been altered or tampered with or the Solar System Product is not used by the Customer in strict conformity with Solarents instructions and Guidelines.

Warranty on Photovoltaic Systems

  • PV Panels carry a 10-year Manufacturers Warranty.
  • Heatbox inverters, controllers and Wi-Fi units, carry a 1 year manufacturers warranty.
  • Geyserwise inverters, mppt units, ACDC elements and controllers carry a 1 year manufacturers warranty.
  • Dyness batteries carry a 5 year manufacturers warrantee.
    Luxpower inverters carry a 5 year manufacturer’s warrantees.
  • Sunsynk Inverters carry a 10 year warrantee if matched to a compatible Sunsynk battery.

Warranty on Thermal Systems

ITS & Kwikot Collectors carry a 5 year manufacturers warranty.

Warranty on Geysers

  • Xstream Geysers and Kwikot Geysers carry a 5-year Manufacturer’s Warranty.
  • Pumps and controllers carry a 1 year Manufacturer’s Warranty.

Certificates of Compliance COC

Geyser COC’s will be made available on request at a cost of R750 excluding VAT. A geyser COC is not a necessity unless transfer of ownership is taking place for the property.

Solar Water PV Systems electrical COCs will be made available at R1000 excluding vat. A Solar water PV system electrical COC is not a necessity unless transfer of ownership is taking place for the property.

In the case of a new build or a renovation, the Solar Water PV Systems may require the National Building Regulations Form 2 and Form 4 and it will be the responsibility of the Client to confirm this with Solarent.

Electrical Work

With regards to electrical work, should our electricians get to site and we establish wiring that does not comply with relevant SANS regulations, they are not permitted by law to issue a Certificate of Compliance until remedied. A separate quote will have to be prepared. This work will be independent of the Solarent installation.

Furthermore, should you have a geyser timer fitted to your DV board, an electrician is required to remove it as it will interfere with the EasiWISE timer.

Please Note: No installation of a Heatbox Energy PV system will be conducted if there is no isolator installed between the electrical distribution board (DB) and a geyser per SANS regulations. Should Solarent be required to install an isolator, an additional R900.00 excluding VAT will be charged.

Wi-Fi / Internet communication

It is the Customers responsibility to ensure that there is sufficient signal strength where the Inverter will be positioned to allow Remote Access. We will be unable to monitor or correct settings without Wi-Fi. Please also check with your Service Provider (ISP) that their Firewall and / or settings do not impede the Inverter from sending data. 

Load Shedding Alert – Surge Arrester Installation

The Customer is required to install a surge arrester in order to protect all electrical equipment from over voltage transients caused by external (lightning) or internal (switching) events, such as load shedding. Solarent™ will not be held responsible for damage done to electrical items due to load shedding and for products which are faulty as a result of load shedding.

Once installed, please ensure your system is insured under your homeowners policy.

Installment Payment Terms and Condition:

The Customer will be in default/breach of the installment payment agreement if he/she/they, inter alia: 

  1. Do not pay any amount payable to Solarent on its due date
  2. Breaches any other terms and conditions of this agreement, and fails to remedy the breach within 7 (seven) days of receiving written notice to do so
  3. Suffers any civil judgment being taken or entered against him/her/it
  4. Commits any act of Insolvency in terms of the Insolvency Act 24 of 1936 (as amended)
  5. Are placed under sequestration, liquidation or judicial management, whether provisional or final or entering into a compromise with creditors

In the event of default/breach by the Customer, Solarent will be entitled to:

  1. Summarily cancel the sale of goods to the Customer
  2. Repossess any goods which have not been paid for in full from the installation site
  3. Remotely terminate the integrated software service for the installed product
  4. Claim specific performance of all the Customer’s obligations whether such obligations have fallen due for performance or not
  5. The Customer shall remain liable for all charges and other lawful expenses due to Solarent in terms of the agreement, should the said charges and expenses not be recovered for any reason whatsoever from the Customer; and/or
  6. The Customer shall be liable for all the Plaintiff’s legal fees in the recovery of any amounts or the enforcement of any rights which they may have hereunder, including collection charges and costs on an attorney and own client scale or if judgment has been granted, in connection with the satisfaction or enforcement or such.
